Purpose of processing
Creation, editing, storage, and archiving of image material to build an image archive for documenting the institute’s history.
Publication on the institute’s website, publication on social media platforms, and transfer to third parties (e.g. the press) for press releases.
In addition, your necessary data will be checked against sanction lists of the currently applicable EU regulations.
Legal basis for data processing
The legal basis is the protection of the legitimate interests of the controller pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
The comparison against sanction lists is based on compliance with a legal obligation pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR.
Recipients or categories of recipients
When image material is published on the Internet or social media, there are risks such as discoverability via search engines, incomplete deletability online, misuse by third parties, and lack of legal protection against misuse outside the EU.
Data may also be shared with third parties (e.g. the press) for press releases.
Data deletion and storage period

Data will be deleted in the event of an objection to processing pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR.
The statutory retention periods will be observed in the context of the comparison against sanction lists.
